Appearance:  These items appear as a very fine golden to silver rope,
designed to be worn around the mid-section as a belt.  The inter-woven
strands are wound tighter and are smoother than any but the most skilled of
rope-makers could equal.  They weigh nothing.

        History: These Items were once common among the Avarial (winged elves),
being commonly given as gifts and rewards to those who helped them.  Now,
only the priesthood of Aerdrie Faenya (check DD, she's the one with the wings
and includes avarials in her portfolio), and, perhaps any lost colonies of
Avarial, remembers how to make these items.  Their manufacture is a closely
guarded secret, but Priest have let it be known it requires the hair from a
mane an Asperii, freely given, to prevent mages from slaying the sky steeds
in a vain attempt to create the items.

        Powers: Two different types exist, one of which was only known how to be
made by the Avarial, the other made by the priest of Andragahh.

        Greater Girdle: Fly 30(B), at will, speak with any equine or elf, 10%
Magic Resistance to spells from the elemental school and sphere of air.

        Common Girdle: Levitate once per day, Feather Fall twice per day.

Less than a dozen of the Greater Girdles are known to exist, and 10 of
those are in Evermeet and Everska.  The other two exist within the Elven
Vale on the Moonshaes.  However, a score of these items were worn by
various nobles of Myth Drannor, and only the fates of three were ever
determined.
