Duty of Andrew
History: During the Time of Troubles, just as Helm stuck down Mystra, a
world away, lives were about to end.

Near Calaunt, a young boy, Andrew, was escorting his younger sister to
Raven's Bluff after the death of their parents from fever. Along the road,
they were attacked by a horrifying Man-beast (Malar, before his defeat by
Nobion). The young boy, holding his ground despite his terror, held his
only weapon, a crudely made spear with a rusted, dull head at the beast.
Malar laughed, and proudly puffed forth his chest and growled at the boy to
prove the ineffectiveness of his piece of wood. For whatever reason, Helm,
alone to retain his powers, decided to interfere, and blessed the boy's
spear with his power. The Spear drove home, barely missing the
Beast-lord's Heart. Outrage, sure he had been ambushed, Malar smashed the
boy down, then ran in search of the God who had crossed him. Several hours
later, Andrew came to, and he and his Sister, Molly, fled to Raven's Bluff,
leaving behind a blood-stained spear, that was thrown into the weeds at the
side of the road. What became of it since is unknown.

Appearance: This spear appears as a slightly bent, poorly made spear.
The shaft is made of poor pine, the head is rusted and dull. However, the
head and the top of the shaft are stained with dried blood, which will not
come off, despite the cleaning method tried. It radiates faint magic if
detected for.

Powers: Duty of Andrew is a Spear+1, whose wielder is immune to all Fear
effects. Also, the spear may strike any creature of less than Demi-power
status, regardless of normal immunities. The spear may injury Pit Fiends,
Assimon, anything not divine.
