History:  This item was fashioned for one of the Great Warriors of
Zhakara, by a powerful Shai'ir.  The warrior Est-Haasem wanted an item to
commemorate his victory over a Giant Roc that had been terrorizing the
desert.  For him the unknown Shai'ir made a sword of great power, but was
Est-Haasem killed him when he presented it to him, for he thought it a
reward that mocked, not glorified.  For the Shai'ir had made the sword from
one of the brilliant red feathers of the Roc.  He then declared the sword
was to be taken from his sight and destroyed.

He gave this assignment to a greedy dwarven Mamluk named B'Onok, who
immediately took the sword and "left" his master's side for Quadra, City of
Power.  From there, he found his way aboard a pirate ship destined for
Hawa, City of Chaos, where he began the start of his career as a pirate.
This career was ended when the ship ran afoul of a powerful merchant ship
while raiding far north of Zakhara.  The ship was part of Calimshan's
Imperial Navy, and was quickly overpowered by the spells of the Sorcerers
aboard the ship, Memnon's Rage.  The ship took the treasure to the Caliph
of all Calimshan, where the sword, considered an idle curiosity, sat,
unused in the Caliph's Treasure Chamber.  When the new Caliph took over
(blanking on another name), he ransacked the various treasure hoards, given
the various magical items to various supporters of his regime.  He gave the
sword to the head of a group of minataour mercenaries that helped him take
over.  Their leader was a brute (CE M-Minotaur, F-12, Str 19/Con19), but
was smart enough to see the weapons usefulness, despite its appearance.  He
then took his band to the Mercenary belt known as the Vilhon Reach, where
their whereabouts are now unknown.

Appearance:  Feathered Sharpness appears as a bright red Scimitar, made
entirely from a single feather, the spine forms the hilt an grip.  Despite
the frail appearance, the sword is stronger than most metal blades, even
cleaving them in two.   If magic is detected for, it will radiate strongly
of Elemental-Air.

Powers:  Feathered Sharpness is a Scimitar of Sharpness +1, severing limbs
on a natural roll of 19 or 20.  The user can cast Tasha's Hideous
Uncontrollable Laughter 1/day, by touch, and Feather Fall up to 3 times per
day.
