Short Swords of Nature
Background: These short swords were first created by druids of Chauntea
within the high forest, for rangers that had done them a service. They
secret of creating these swords have since spread to most of the Torilian
faiths with druids. These non-descript wooden short swords are made from
the heart-wood of iron-oaks trees that have died from old age, a rare
event. No more than three swords are made from any one tree. The process
that makes them is a closly guarded secret of the various nature
priesthoods, but the process requires at least a month, and takes place
within a druids' sacred grove (CBoD).

Description: These shortswords appear as normal short swords, only they
are made of a light brown wood. Occasionaly the Holy Symbol of the faith
that created them is engraved on the pommel. All a detect magic spell will
reveal is the presence of druidical magic.

Powers: These Short Swords act as Short Swords +1, with the ability to
cast Plant Growth 1/day. In the hands of a ranger, however, He/she gains
the ability to cast faeire fire 1/day, as well as to cast an additional 1st
level spell from the plant sphere, if of a level to cast priest spells. In
addition, it is rumored some of these swords have been impued with
addditional powers.

Current Known Locations: Although most are in the hands of rangers
throughout the North, many have fallen into other hands. Some of the most
notable include: Being wooden these swords are quite popular with sailors
on the Moonsea, Sea of Fallen Swords, and Sword Coast, as well as those
creatures lairing beneath the waves. At least 4 gnomes and 6 dwarves are
know to carry such weapons, as they specialize in Rust Monster eradication.
Any Ranger PC who does a great service for a group of druids might be
rewarded with one of these distinctive blades.
