History: Slylanianous is a high Priestess of Yondalla (LG HF P-15, Wis18,
Dex17), who has found a very profitable way to help build a small temple to
her faith in her small village in Lurien. And a way to insure seats are
full every sermon. Simply put, she took her expertise at cooking (Normal,
Healthy, and Medicinal-FR-16), Dweomercraft and Animal Husbandry and made
it work for her. She has enchanted nearly a dozen Shining South Geese over
the past 10 years (1360 & beyond), to lay already fully cooked, and
deliciously prepared, eggs with restorative properties. This has made her
quite popular within Lurien, and word of her Magic Geese is starting to
spread.
Shortly after refusing to sell any of her Geese to the Agent of a greedy
Calshite Pasha, her animal barns were raided. The raid was quickly
thwarted by her trained Fire Falcons (MC-14), but not before three of the
geese got away. Slylanianous has been unable to find her missing geese,
and since they always come when called, she fears they have been
Goosenapped. She is now looking for experienced adventures to find her
geese, and is willing to pay a lot to have them returned, plus a large
bonus if the goosenappers can be brought to justice. (see Marshall,
Halfling & Manhunter in Demihumans of the Realms).
Powers: Each White goose, with red beak, and black wing feathers can lay
1d4 eggs per day. Also, each goose can "honk" to the tune of "Yondalla's
Youngest Babes", a favorite tune of Slylanianous's.
Each of the eggs, which are white with brown speckles (50% of the time
forming the holy symbol of one of the Halfling Pantheon's Gods), can be
cracked open to expose an already cooked feast. Each egg forms a piping
hot omelet, complot with Chives, Mushrooms, Spices, dash of Catopleapas
milk, Lurien Green-berry wine, Gooseberries, and Lurien Spring Cheese.
However, this does not have the effect that Cheeeeese normally has on
Halflings, as Slylanianous's expertise at Medicinal Cooking reveals it
healing benefits.
Each egg act as a Goodberry, as wells allowing someone to recover 1d8
additional Hit Points the night after eating one (no matter how many were
eaten, only 1d8 is healed). Each egg provides a Neutralize Poison effect.
Each egg also has a 50% chance of curing any non-magical disease, a 10%
chance of curing Magical Diseases, and a 5% chance of acting as a Remove
Curse at the 20th lvl of ability. Once her her/his lifetime, a halfling
may eat one of these eggs and be affected as if by a heal spell.
If used by a Good Halfling (only) as a sling bullet, the eggs act as
Bullets+3, doing 1d12+3 points of damage, but only to creatures immediately
threatening the Halfling. This does not break the egg. It may still be
eaten later.
Anyone who eats one of these eggs and has ever needlessly harmed a
halfling is subjected to the Halfling Spell "A Day in the Life" with no
saving throw. The spell last for 1 ride for every halfling the subject has
ever harmed. All the beneficial effects of eating an egg still takes place.
The eggs will remain good for one year after being laid, after that the
hatch into a Flame Swallow (See SJ-4), that will serve as any good aligned
halfling's companion (as per a Beastmaster Ranger's companion).
