Time in a Bottle
History: Or, rather, the lack of it. These are items which do not exist.
No writings, Arcane or otherwise can be found about them. No sage can
remember their properties. No divination magics can reveal their location.
However adventurers still occasionally run across one of these items.

These bottles contain the distilled essence of the Lifeline of a
Chronomancer. One that has been voluntarily cut, and the pieces used to
create this elixir. The cutting of a Chronomancer's Lifeline allows him to
exist outside of time, and thus visit the same time multiple times. These
potions are typically used to barter with mages and the rich in other times
and other places, as they can restore youth and vitality.

However, in the Realms, Greater Chronomancer spells, those that allow time
travel are banned by Mystra. Thus no chronomancer with a severed time
chord can enter Faerun. Those that have made their way into the realms
have come at times such as the Fall of Netheril and the Godsfall, as
control over the weave faltered. Most chronomancer devices that have
entered the Realms have come by way of the Outer Planes. Yet, once used,
all memory of the items is erased from the users mind. As of yet no
permanent Chronomancer items have been found anywhere in Realmspace.

Appearance: These items appear as clear class bottles of various shapes
and sizes, all of which sport a Platinum cork fastened by silver wire on
the top. The inside is a mass of whirling, sparkling motes. If Detect
Magic is used these items appear enchanted, though the exact school can
never be determined.

Powers: Whoever opens one of these bottles (by pulling the silver wire),
is instantly made 3d10 years younger. Unlike Potions of Longevity,
however, there is no risk of a reverse reaction, regardless of how many of
been drunk. (Note, very rarely, one of these bottles will appear with a
Gold Wire, these potions age 3d10 years, and are usually made specifically
with a Dragon, Vampire, or some other creature whose power grows with age).

Misc: A Chronomancer who uses the Sever Lifeline spell can create trap
enough of his lifeline essence to create 1d3 of these potions.

The Chronomancer Supplement is available for download from the "Netbook" section
