History:  Before the Army of evil laid Myth Drannor low, a reclusive Elven
High Magi, developed an improved version of Ioun Stones and Rings of
Regeneration.  While pondering a way to accelerate healing items, it was
actually his scribe, Yip-Yap (LN Kobold-M Sage 6, Int-15, Wis-16), who
first suggested the means to achieve this.  He said that since trolls have
such a superior regenerative rate, why not just trap one's soul into it?

Sel'ques'tien'lyll Del'thyrn'tianol (CN E-M M-19) immediately began his
experiments into it.  His first attempts failed horribly, and some of the
Ghost Trolls that were created still roam the Dalelands area.  Finally, he
hit upon the solution.  A live, still beating Troll's heart was needed.  It
was necessary to rip the still beating heart from the troll, and place it
in a special container with a 1,000 GP Bloodstone.  The Container was a
lead-encased box, 1'x 1' x 1', with walls of force on the inside edges.  As
the troll tried to regenerate, the confined space forced the troll is
slowly destroy itself.  After a ride of this the mystic enchantment were
begun.  After they  were ended, the mass of troll, was gone, only leaving
the Bloodstone, now with a greenish tint from the troll's blood.  Then the
Ioun Stone or Ring could be created as normal.

Sel'ques'tien'lyll Del'thyrn'tianol experimented with other creatures
throughout his life, most notably his scribe Yip-Yap, when he grew near
death.  His soul now resides in Silver, Catseye studded ring.

Powers:  These item function as normal rings/Ioun stones of regeneration,
except the healing rate is 3 H.P. a turn, instead of 1.  If you can find
one Gargantuan Trolls (Mystara MC), work even better, providing 6 H.P. a turn.

However, if ever subjected to a Mordenkanien's Disjunction, the Troll
spirit will be freed, and the owner will have to deal with a VERY upset,
undead, spectral troll.

Ring of Yip-Yap:

Powers: this is a sentient, and upset, ring. It can provide it's wielder
with all of the following proficiencies (all at 18 or less), but only if
mollified somehow.  (Usually a good play, especially opera, will do the
trick).
