BRUCE CORDELL RETURNS TO PSIONICS!
New Malhavoc Release Offers Variant Combat System and More

February 13, 2003 (Renton, Wash.) -- As a follow-up to his award-winning psionics supplement If Thoughts Could Kill, Bruce R. Cordell brings us Mindscapes: A Psion's Guide, a new psionics classbook on sale today from Malhavoc Press.

Bruce, designer of the Psionics Handbook, decided to write this book in response to reader requests for more psionicist prestige classes and an alternate psionic combat system. "The dearth of cool new multiclass options for the psion and psychic warrior was a void that called out to be filled," he said.

Not only does this book present a dozen new prestige classes for psionic characters, as well as the mindscape psionic combat system, it also offers a wide variety of new feats, powers, and items. This valuable resource for DMs and players alike serves as a companion piece to the author's other psionics supplements.

Mindscapes: A Psion's Guide comes as a 64-page, illustrated PDF file with a streamlined page design to minimize file size for faster downloading and conserve ink for quicker printing. The book features the black-and-white artwork of Kieran Yanner and a cover illustration from Alan Pollack. This electronic edition, regularly priced at $9, is available now from online retailers for the sale price of only $7. The book is suitable for characters of all levels and any fantasy campaign. You can sample previews of the art and a prestige class free at the Malhavoc Press website:

Look for the electronic edition of Bruce's Mindscapes: Beasts of the Id, featuring 32 pages of new psionic monsters, coming in March.

Born in Watertown, S.D., Bruce Cordell holds a degree in Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado. While working as a Research Associate in process chemistry he learned to synthesize DNA, but he couldn't resist the call of game design. In 1995, after a few years as a freelancer and designer of online text-generated virtual worlds, he abandoned science for a designer position at TSR (now Wizards of the Coast). His many design credits include the Psionics Handbook, The Sunless Citadel, Heart of Nightfang Spire, and the Origins Award-winning Return to the Tomb of Horrors. He won the 2002 EN World d20 System Award for Best Adventure for his first Malhavoc psionics title, If Thoughts Could Kill. Bruce lives in Seattle, Wash., with his wife Dee and their dog and five cats. He is hard at work on his second novel. To read more about him, visit <www.brucecordell.com>.
