Magic: The Weapons Keeper's Inventory

by Michael Lejeune

Bow of Stealth

Gold: priceless
XP: 2000

Appearance:
Green elf constructed bow. Oak shaft with sparkly green leaf décor.

Long bow +2

In hands of true elf:
Able to hide among elf's clothing - subtract 2 on initiative. Very robust, doesn't burn by normal fire. Shoots at normal firing rate under water. Causes double damage when firing arrows made by a green elf.

History: This bow is reported to have existed in the time of the great war in Myth Drannor. Although none can name its creator, many have speculated that Montuvion Lyshethyl was responsible. Lyshethyl was the chief wizard in Semberwood during the invasion of that city. It was once reported that the bow had actually turned into a delicate elven maid while its possessor was in heated battle with an orc tribe. The maiden held onto the owner and teleported him to safety. The truth of such a statement is much debated among elven scholars.

Sword of Pallusandavarious

Gold: 25000
XP: 5000

Appearance:
Purple blade, leather bound handle with a purple dragon head on the pommel. Believed to be Suzailian.

Long Sword +1

In hands of a proficient swordsman who speaks the proper words the Sword develops additional abilities. ("Pallus, I command you." Only needs to be said once and activates the sword for life.)

  • Summon minor purple dragon for 2d10 rounds (1/day; command words "dragon do my bidding")
  • Effect purple illumination within a 20' radius for two hours duration. May intimidate opponent (1/day; command word "brightness")
  • Cause roar of purple dragon. Enemies save versus spell or have a penalty of 5 on initiative for entire encounter. (1/day; command words "release your anger")
  • Produce a purple flame for 1d10 rounds. Six feet long and three inches long, extends from sword hilt. Wielded as bastard sword. Causes 2d6 plus the level of the wielder damage. (1/day; command words "purple vengence")

History:
This sword has been mentioned among the pages of the best librams in Candlekeep that regard weapons of evil intent. Although not the most powerful of dragon-posessed swords, it does have unquestionable potential for destruction. It is currently within the humble hands of Gluimern, a 7th level wizard with a sho in Raven's Bluff called "The Smiling Tooth".The adventurer Mooranthor, 5th level fighter/dwarf claimed it from the wizard Zabobin the battle of Valen Blood. If any information is to be gathered about it, he would be the one to contact. His wereabouts are unknown at the time of this scripting.

Laquisious' Wand of Repercussion

Gold: 15000 XP: 4500

Appearance: Dark blue 1 1/2' by 1"platinum wand with silver tip and ancient script written throughout its length.

Has 1d10 charges and can produce the following effects. Only one effect may be active at once.
Shield spell, AC bonus three - no culmative effects. Lasts one turn. (1 charge; command words "shield me")
Dull blade. Range 10 feet. Target saves versus spell. If it fails blade becomes dull. Blade gets penalty of three on attack and damage rolls for duration of combat.

History:

Some have come through Arabel with great intentions, and some have simply passed through. One such adventurer with the boldest intentions (cleaning the city of wizardous scum) was Daether von Beine. It was his daring feats that got him recognized in the first place. But it was this wand that one him respect. The method of creation is unknown, and the creator is thought to reside among the hills in Rawlinswood. Daether had plans of destruction and was eventually put asunder by the "Luminescent Warriors" of Arabel, so the history of the wand was not discovered. All that the bards sing of, are the exploits of one Daether von Beine, and his plunge into greedy dissolve.
