Ed, What I Always Wanted to Know ...
A little more than a year ago, in Dragon No. 244, in his column Profiles, Allen Varney began his report on his interview with Ed Greenwood by writing, "When asked a few questions for this 700-word ... profile, Ed Greenwood sent answers totaling 2,600 words." Well, we're happy to tell you that 2,600 words is a pittance for an online publication like The Forgotten Times. We sent interviewer Kimberly Moser out to find out everything our readers ever wanted to know about Ed himself, about his own campaign's version of the Forgotten Realms, why the Time of Troubles hasn't happened yet in his campaign, what is coming in future Realms works, what Ed would like to see come, etc., etc. Whatever you wanted to know from the Father of the Realms, chances are good that Kim asked the question and got the answer for you. You'll just have to settle for a lot more than 2,600 words!
Arylon: Making it Useable
Arylon is the biggest of the many projects growing out of the Forgotten Realms Mailing Lists in Internet. Realms gamers from around the world have been building an exciting new Realms city on Sword Coast, along the Chiontar River between Baldur's Gate and Elturel. They've been doing it step by step for a year now, but some game masters say they have trouble visualizing the city or seeing how it can be used in their campaigns. The Forgotten Times has gone out to get you a trio of answers. First of all, Times Publisher Peter Oliva interviews Kimberly Moser on where Arylon has been, where it's going next, when the much wanted city maps will be available and what the Arylon crew would like from you. Then, in two separate pieces by Erskine Fincher and Kimberly Moser, you get a tour of the city from two entirely different points of view. With a bit of beer foam still staining his mustache, Sgt Phyrgys McGhilliegh of the Silver Crescents takes you on a walk through Arylon's seamier side. After that, such notables as Lady Miranda Roaringhorn, Edain Bradley and the half-elven Lady Mistmere guide you through Arylon's finer side. Make the tour, and you and your PCs soon will be right at home in Arylon!
